The Dreams of Lioness Blixen is a photographic conversation with the life, writings and imagination of Karen Blixen. Created during several journeys through Kenya and Tanzania, the series explores the landscapes of East Africa that inspired her memoir Out of Africa.
Moving between memory, dream and place, the photographs evoke the landscapes that remained alive in Blixen's imagination long after she left Africa. This body of work is an invitation to enter the world that shaped one of the twentieth century's most distinctive literary voices.
"The real glory of dreams lies in their atmosphere of unlimited freedom. Great landscapes create themselves, long splendid views, rich and delicate colours…"
Karen Blixen, Out of Africa
The photographs are available as limited edition archival pigment prints on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic paper.
